    In NC we have the United States Equine Rescue League, we are working to eliminate the slaughter of horses. We take in abused horses and rehabilitate them to be adopted out. We also work to educate people on horse issues. I don't know if you have a group of any kind in your area that works to educate people and to support legislature, if not perhaps you could start one. The more people working on these issues the more we can do to help.
